Introduction

The Institute of Applied English aims to prepare students for professions in teaching English to speakers of other languages through well-organized curricula grounded in theory and practice. Its programs cultivate students’ English proficiency and communicative competence, giving them a competitive edge in the international job market. The employment rate of program graduates is high; nearly all students find employment in various fields.

Students at the Institute of Applied English will study a variety of topics, including but not limited to second language acquisition, TESOL methods, teaching/research in speaking, listening, reading and writing skills, computer-assisted language learning, quantitative/qualitative research methods, English academic writing, English for specific purposes, learning motivation and strategies, language testing, and English literature.
